The Emmaus Road Part 3





1. Messiah would destroy the works of the enemy Genesis 3:15, 1 John 3:8 - 
And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring[a] and hers;
he will crush your head, and you will strike his heel.”
2. Genesis 12 to your seed I will give this land (and all nations will be blessed). See - Galatians 3

3. Genesis 22- Abraham lays wood on Isaac, Mt. Moriah place near where Jesus was crucified and became final sacrifice for all, substitutionary lamb/ ram.
4. Life of Joseph - a foreshadowing of Messiah, fulfilled in Jesus (sold by brothers for 20 shekels of silver, because of jealousy, received by gentiles, falsely accused, 2 in jail, raised up, saves his own people with 7 years of famine, jews eyes are opened to see its their brother.

5. Genesis 49 Jacob’s words of prophecy, that the scepter would not depart from Judah nor a lawgiver  from between his feet until Shiloh (perhaps "he whose it is," a Messianic title) comes and to Him shall be the obedience of the people.

6. Exodus 12/ John 1:29 - the Passover Lamb - lamb for a man, for a family, nation, 
7. Leviticus - burnt offering (Hebrews 10:1-10) peace offering (Romans 5:1), sin offering (1 John 2:2)
8. Feasts - spring feasts. Unleavened bread 7 days, palm sunday, the killed on passover, Jesus crucified, first fruits, Jesus rises 3 days later, pentecost, coming of the Holy Spirit, 3,000 die at Sinai, 3,000 saved. Relaying on the Holy Spirit. First coming, fall feasts second coming.

9. Numbers 21 connected to John 3 - The Bible interprets itself.  Jesus makes it known, like the Brazen serpent.  His being lifted up. Saved by looking unto Him alone.

10. Messiah would be a prophet like Moses (doing miracles, hearing directly from God, etc…Deuteronomy 18:15-18
11. DEUTERONOMY 21:23 – BECAME A CURSE AS WAS HANGED ON A TREE (GALATIANS 3:10-13

12. The life of Joshua points to Messiah - same name as Jesus. To lead His people into their inheritance into the promises of God.
13. Ruth - seen symbolically as a kinsman redeemer as Boaz was with Ruth, 
The Hebrew term (go el) for kinsman-redeemer designates one who delivers or rescues.

14. Messiah would be a priest forever 1 Samuel 2:35 - Messiah would be a priest (after the order of Melchizedek) (Hebrews7) superior to Levi

15. Life of David… crushing the serpent’s “head” as he cut of Goliath’s head taking it to Jerusalem where Messiah would be killed and crush the enemy’s head…
16. 2 Samuel 7:12/ 1 CHRONICLES 17 - Davidic covenant, Solomon recognized it wasn’t talking about him as seen in Psalm 72 which he wrote.

17. The sonship and rulership of Messiah Jesus - Psalm 2 the nations raging against Messiah (Acts 13:33, Revelation 2:26 ver batim)

18. The deity of Christ - Psalm 110, Matthew 22:44, Isaiah 9:6, Isaiah 45:23)
The Lord (Yahweh) said to my Lord (Adon, Master, Lord)),

19. The rejection of Jesus - Psalm 118:22,23, Matthew 21:42

20. The betrayal of Jesus - Psalm 69:20,21, 109, Mat 27:34

Also Psalm 41:9,
Even my close friend in whom I trusted, who ate my bread, has lifted his heel against me.

21. The manner that He would die - Psalm 22:1,8,15,16, Isaiah 50:6, 52:13,14, Isaiah 53

22. His resurrection - Psalm 16:10, Isaiah 53:10b “He will prolong His days” Jonah

23. Would come as a Bridegroom (Psalm 45)

24. Messiah would be the Son of God PROVERBS 30:4

25. Messiah would be born of a virgin (and deity) (Isa 7:14; cf. Mt 1:33).

26. He would have a forerunner (Isa 40:3-5; Mal 3:1; cf. Mt 3:3, Mk 1:3; Lk 3:4-6).
27. His humble manner and gentleness (Isaiah 42:1-4) (Matthew 12:20)

28. and he would suffer vicariously for the sins of the world. 
(Isa  52:15, 53:6, 9, 12; cf. I Pt 2:21-25; Rom 4:25). Zechariah 3:8,9

29. The type of miraculous ministry He would have (Isaiah 61, Luke 4:18)

30. He would bring a new covenant (Jeremiah 31:31, Matthew 26:28)

31. Messiah would be called Son of Man (Daniel 7:13, 14, Mark 10:45, Matthew 26:64)

32. Daniel 9 - When Messiah was to be born!
Ezekiel 4:6 and Numbers 14:34, a day = a year
33. I will call my son out of Egypt (Hosea 11:1, Matthew 2:15)

34. Messiah’s birthplace would be Bethlehem (Mic 5:2; cf. Mt 2:1, 6). 

35.  that Messiah would enter Jerusalem riding on a donkey” (Zech 9:9-10; Ps 118:25-26; cf. Mt 21:9; Mk 11:9; Lk 19:38; Jh 12:13). 
36. Betrayed for 30 pieces of silver

37. Messiah’s side would be pierced and the Jews would recognize who’ve they killed… (Zech 12:10; cf. Jh 19:37),
